With a wide selection of shops within easy walking distance of each other and plenty of fantastic places to grab a drink or bite to eat, shopping in York is a great day out.
The major high street retailers are clustered around Coney Street / Spurriergate and Davygate / Parliament Street – which run parallel to each other in the city centre. You’ll find the likes of Next, River Island, TK Maxx, Marks and Spencer, Waterstones, Superdry, H & M, Fat Face, Urban Outfitters and Zara here. Stonegate – which runs between Davygate and High Petergate – has White Stuff, Jack Wills, Crabtree & Evelyn, Joules, Cath Kidston and more.
We’ve marked all these places, plus Coppergate the York shopping centre, on a map at the end of this page.
Rather than list all of these stores – which are very easy to find – we’ve put together a selection of some of York’s more unusual shops that might not be on your typical high street…
