Although The Royal Oak is one of York’s oldest pubs, dating back to the 16th century, the mock Tudor frontage was added in the 19th century (although to American visitors this will still seem positively ancient). Its stylish interior with modern patterned wallpaper compliments the building’s more original features. Food served through the day. Beer selection is perhaps a little limited.
