An unspoilt historic pub built in the 15th or 16th century, The Golden Slipper has a Victorian brick façade added in the 19th. Inside there are four seating areas including a snug and library. Popular with tourists looking for a bite to eat during the day, there’s also plenty of entertainment with darts, jukebox, quizzes and live music on a Sunday. Although in the city centre it has the feel of a friendly, local pub.
