Right next to the iconic Clifford’s Tower, Hilton York is within a easy walking distance of some of city’s most famous attractions. The Castle Museum is just behind Clifford’s Tower, York Dungeon is around the corner and if you turn left and left again out of the main entrance you’ll find the newly reopened Jorvik Viking Centre.
Hotel Facilities & Location
As well as being great for tourists, the Hilton hotel in York is well equipped for business guests as well. There are eight meeting and conference rooms, the largest of which has a capacity of up to two hundred, and the hotel has an on site event manager to make sure your day runs smoothly. You can hire any audio visual equipment you might need and they have all the dedicated business services you would expect of a large hotel.
The room options are numerous. There are single, double, king or family guest rooms, however if you want a bit more luxury you can book a deluxe or deluxe plus room or even upgrade to a whole suite – complete with views across Clifford’s Tower.
Although walkable from the railway station, if you’re travelling to York by train with a lot of luggage you’ll be best off taking a 5 minute cab journey to the hotel. If you’re travelling by car the Hilton York has underground parking – although spaces are limited. However, there is a large car park beyond Clifford’s Tower where you can leave a car overnight.
On the ground floor there is a large front-facing restaurant as well as a bar and lounge area. The Hilton also has Applejacks – a sports bar and diner just around the corner – handy if need somewhere to watch the game. Although it’s part of the main building you can only access it if you leave the hotel by the main entrance.
For avid websurfers, maybe the Hilton’s only downside is the lack of free WiFi for regular guest – it is complimentary with the deluxe rooms and above. However if you have plenty of data 4G coverage in York is excellent.
